There is the Vi??u-avat?ra Buddha who appeared about 3500 years ago, and the ??kyamuni Buddha who appeared about 2500 years ago. ??kyamuni Buddha is an atheist and voidist, so we reject him and his teaching. Vi??u-avat?ra Buddha is bona fide because He is the incarnation o the Lord, but His teachings have been covered up and lost to Western history. Of course we still have them in the Vedas.

Yes, but “unity with the Supreme” does not mean that we become one with Him, because if that were possible then we would already be one with Him. Unity really means that we take up His purposes as expressed in Bhagavad-g?t? and other Vedic scriptures. The impersonalist theory expressed by ???kar?c?rya and others is not supported by Ved?nta. The real conclusion of the Vedas is bhakti, and pure bhakti alone.
