Yes, you still have to take notes and do homework. You could cheat, but the tests are timed. If you spent the time to look up an answer, you wouldn't have time to answer the rest of the questions. Every assignment has a deadline for submission. You can work ahead, but not behind. If you don't read the assignments, watch the videos, listen to the lectures and participate in the discussions, the instructor knows it and you won't pass the course. Yes, someone else could do this for you, but they would have to do all the course work, or you still wouldn't pass the course…you have to pace yourself. You cannot do all the work for each unit in a day. You have to set aside regular times to be available for the discussions, and regular intervals to do the work or it won't get done. Just like a regular class, but you don't have to put your clothes on or do your hair.
